Monsoon Festival of Performing Arts is a multidisciplinary South Asian performing-arts festival presented by the South Asian Arts Society in Metro Vancouver, and the festival needed a brand that could carry equity across a full decade while letting each edition feel new. Most festival brands either drift year to year, losing recognition, or stay so static that they feel tired by year three. The system had to hold its core while flexing freely enough that returning audiences sensed evolution rather than repetition.
A Living Core
We built a core identity stable enough to anchor the festival across a decade. The raindrop mark, the typography system, and the structural language stay consistent year over year, which is what builds audience recognition over time. The festival's tenth year arrived in 2025.
Seasonal Refreshes
Each edition gets seasonal color, pattern, and illustration refreshes that keep the festival feeling new without abandoning what audiences already know. Returning audiences sense evolution. New audiences encounter a fresh expression. The core holds; the surface flexes.
A System Across Applications
The brand extends across campaign toolkits, social templates, stage graphics, wayfinding, partner assets, and the festival website. Every touchpoint draws from the same system, which is what lets a small festival operate at a scale that feels much larger.
